Who We Are
Rock Creek Cats Inc. is an all-volunteer nonprofit dedicated to helping less fortunate felines in the D.C. area.
Our main activity is helping outdoor, unadoptable (feral/wild) cats through what's known as Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR): humanely trapping them, getting them spayed/neutered and vaccinated, and returning them to their environment, while ensuring they have food and shelter. TNR averts the birth of kittens, prevents the feral population from getting out of control, and reduces the number of cats who end up in overloaded, high-kill shelters.
When we come across outdoor cats who are good candidates for adoption (strays), we get them appropriate veterinary care and foster them until they are placed in loving, permanent homes. Adoptable cats can be viewed at the following link:

The adoption process includes an application, vet reference check (if applicable), home visit, adoption contract and adoption fee.
We receive no government funding and rely mainly on donations to fund our activities. Rock Creek Cats is a 501(c)(3) charity, which means contributions are tax-deductible.
